Tanauan City Mayor Thony C. Halili speaking before the representatives of the different sectors of the city explaining his vision of transforming the city into “The City of Colors”.

The City Government of Tanauan had announced recently the activities leading to the grand launching of “Tanauan City – The City of Colors.”

In the December 11, 2013 consultative meeting with the representatives of the various sectors of the city, Mayor Thony C. Halili revealed that the event will be held on March 8, 2014, marking the city’s 442nd founding anniversary and the 13th year of cityhood.  Series of activities were lined up for the festivity culminating with a grandiose evening float parade and street dancing to be participated by the city’s various schools, locators, business establishments and NGOs.

“The City of Colors”, which was encapsulated during his inaugural speech, is one of Mayor Halili’s grand visions for Tanauan City.  It aims to transform the city into a spectrum of lively colors thru a synergy of private and public sector’s cooperation.  Works had already been undertaken and completed with the installation of colorful lamp posts and construction of covered walk ways along the A. Mabini Avenue and Pres. Laurel Hi-way while the private sector made a commitment to paint their respective areas in support of Mayor Halili’s vision.

Mayor Halili also added that the launching is just one of the many projects his administration will be implementing in order to promote and put Tanauan City into the tourism map of the Philippines and attract more investments into the city.   “This is the biggest event that has been so far planned by the City Government of Tanauan,” Mayor Halili told the attendees.

Present during the meeting, which was presided by Mr. Tato Dimayuga, head of the city’s Sports Development Office, were representatives from First Asia Institute of Technology (FAITH), Philip Morris - Fortune Tobacco Corporation (PMFTC), Yazaki-Torres Manufacturing, Inc. (YTMI), Rizal Microbank, El Sol Electronics Device Phils., Inc., Isteel, Inc., Honda Phils., Inc., First Philippines Industrial Park (FPIP), Nestle Phils., Inc., Security Bank, Metro Turf Club, RRCG Transport, Jollibee Foods Corp., Hands-On Tanauan Youth Organization, and the Rotary Club of Tanauan, and private individuals led by Mr. Boy Sayaman and Mr. German Panghulan.
